Job Requirements/Description

ELT Teacher Trainer Required

We require experienced and skilled ELT teacher trainers to teach on two 6-week training programmes for undergraduate students from Hong Kong. The programmes will take place from 12 October to 20 November 2026 and 16 November to 19 December 2026. Note that the initial two weeks of the first programme will be delivered online.

Department

The Global Opportunities team is part of the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility team and manages the University’s portfolio of international student mobility partners and programmes, bespoke short courses for students and staff of partner universities overseas and open access summer schools for students from around the world. These programmes aim to build new international relationships and enhance existing relationships with key University partners across the globe and support University strategy.

Role

Your responsibilities will include providing input sessions on English Language Teaching theory, methodology and practice including micro-teaching opportunities for the trainees and conducting tutorials, some of which will involve the integration of language and content study. You will manage groups of teachers throughout a teacher-training programme and provide mentoring and feedback on teaching skills.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

You should have a relevant ELT qualification (minimum Cambridge ESOL DELTA, Trinity Diploma TESOL) and experience of English language teaching and teacher-training. You will have worked for educational organisations in the UK and internationally. You will have the ability to design appropriate teacher training materials and deliver teaching methodology sessions. The position also requires the ability to plan, manage, organise and assess your own teaching contributions and provide appropriate feedback to trainees. You should have a high level of literacy skills and be a proficient user of office IT software packages, especially the Google Suite.
