We are looking for an inspiring and proactive Curriculum Team Leader to lead and develop our Community Learning provision within our Adult Skills Department, working closely with a wide range of community organisations, employers and local partners to deliver high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of our diverse communities. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educational leader to drive curriculum innovation, build strong community links, support learner progression and lead a dedicated team in delivering an outstanding learning experience.


This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week.

Interviews are expected to take place W/C 2nd November 2026.


Responsibilities include:

    • To be responsible for managing the performance of courses in the curriculum areas, specifically in the areas of student enrolment, retention and achievement targets; quality of teaching and learning; observations, appraisal and staff development; student satisfaction and equality and diversity targets.
    • To ensure appropriate records, registers, staff and student timetables are maintained and available as required by internal management information systems and external audit regimes.
    • To ensure that systems are in place to ensure that effective Initial Advice and Guidance takes place and that all programme MIS data is interrogated to support the achievement of intended outcomes.
    • To be responsible for the overall management of the curriculum team.
    • To undertake teaching at a level agreed with the HoD and Curriculum Area Manager.
    • To be responsible for the business development and recruitment in the curriculum areas.
    • To ensure effective management of the curriculum’s physical resources.
    • To maintain a safe and secure learning environment by ensuring regular risk assessments are undertaken.
    • To contribute to the collegial culture, mission and strategic objectives and to work with colleagues in other curriculum and service areas across the College.
    • To support the HoD and Curriculum Area Manager.
    • Manager in the planning, innovation, design and development of curriculum programmes and cross-college marketing activities.
    • To promote excellent teaching and effective learning across the curriculum area, and to disseminate and share good practice across the College.
    • To be compliant with the College's quality assurance processes.
    • To liaise with validating bodies, awarding bodies, exam boards and professional bodies to ensure compliance with curriculum quality requirements.

Education & Training

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree or appropriate professional qualification.
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience

  • Experience in managing curriculum delivery within Adult Education
  • Experience in course development and recruitment
  • Experience in student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience in the interpretation of data sets to inform and enable performance management.
  • Academic or industrial, or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programme.
  • Ability to utilise Information Technology and Information, Learning and Technology both within learning and for administrative purposes.
