Technology Development Tester - Head Office Bradford

Hybrid Working

As a Technology Development Tester, you’ll play a key role in making sure the systems used across our dealerships are reliable, easy to use and ready for release. From testing new features to checking that our business applications work seamlessly together, your work will help our colleagues deliver a great customer experience.

Reporting to our Product & Development Manager, you’ll work closely with Software Engineers, DevOps and colleagues across the business, bringing a thorough approach and a fresh perspective to software quality.

As a Technology Development Tester, your day will include:

  • Creating and executing test plans, test cases and scripts for new features, enhancements, bug fixes and integrations.
  • Carrying out manual functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing across web applications, browsers, devices and environments.
  • Testing APIs and integrations with systems such as Keyloop (Kerridge), Dealerweb and manufacturer platforms, checking data accuracy and system behaviour.
  • Identifying, recording and tracking defects, working with developers to verify fixes.
  • Supporting user acceptance testing with dealership colleagues and business stakeholders, providing clear guidance and documentation.
  • Contributing to sprint planning, reviews and wider team discussions, identifying quality risks early.
  • Developing and maintaining automated tests where appropriate, working with DevOps to integrate them into build and release processes.
  • Preparing test summaries and release sign-off documentation, maintaining test data and helping improve our testing processes.

Occasional travel to our business sites may be required.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be curious about how systems work, confident asking questions and committed to getting the details right. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively and be able to explain your findings clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

You’ll have:

  • Proven experience as a Software Tester, QA Analyst or in a similar software testing role.
  • Experience writing and executing structured test plans, test cases and clear, reproducible defect reports.
  • Practical experience testing RESTful APIs and web-based applications.
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or similar to manage defects and track work.
  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working in an agile or scrum team.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to turn business requirements into meaningful test scenarios.
  • The confidence to work independently, manage priorities and raise risks when needed.

Experience with automotive systems such as Keyloop/Kerridge, or other enterprise business applications, would be an advantage. We’d also welcome knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
