What you will be doing

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the University's Conduct and Complaints Team, delivering a fair, professional and compassionate service.

Reporting to the Head of Student Circumstances and Casework, you will lead the University's conduct and complaints casework service, managing a specialist team responsible for student complaints, appeals, disciplinary matters, academic misconduct, fitness to study and fitness to practise.

Working with colleagues across the University, Students' Union and external bodies, you will oversee complex casework, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the Conduct and Complaints Team.
• Managing complex student cases and ensuring fair, timely and consistent outcomes.
• Acting as the University's operational contact with the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
• Developing policies, procedures, guidance and training.
• Using casework data to identify trends and improve services.
• Building effective relationships across the University to support students.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• Significant experience managing complex casework in a regulatory or policy-driven environment.
• Experience leading teams and delivering high-quality services.
• The ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and procedures.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience using data to inform decision-making and service improvement.
